TIP 6 Mutual Consultation
Like the tip above on being exclusive, yet another strategy to exclusivity would be to make it clear in the first interview with a prospective family law client that it's a mutual consultation. That is, the client is consulting you and you're consulting with the customer to be able to determine whether the two of you are a match. TIP 16 Returning Calls
Teach your client from the beginning on what to expect in terms of returned phone calls. Respond to your clients. Have one of your staff call if you can't do it. Clients pay a good deal of money for lawyers and they deserve attention.
TIP 22 You Are Not Right For Everyone
Try to make your legal practice fit you and your style rather than trying to change yourself to suit somebody else's idea of what family law clinic should be. Stay true to your values and principles and do not attempt to change who you are to accommodate a client. Do not attempt to become a round peg in a square hole. There are lots of customers, some fit and some don't. There are different lawyers who will help.
